“Visual poetry” is the clearest, most concise way to describe the work that Ashley produces. It was truly a privilege to work with her in the process of creating what felt like an authentic reflection of myself as an art therapist, artist, and human behind my brand. From start to finish, it was not only an experience of ease but one of joy. It was such an exciting, spellbinding journey to feel that I could truly trust someone with executing the vision that I had in mind– what I want to communicate to my clients and how. Ashley has a gift. I believe that she has the capacity to hold space for people and truly listen for not only what it is they may be in search of or are wanting to showcase, but an equal understanding of how elements of a message (whether it be via video or still photograph) are being communicated to a larger audience. She finds the harmony between the two. 

I am typically not one to enjoy having professional headshots taken. Although, come to find out, that’s because the common, traditional approach (often in a studio with staged lighting and a backdrop) simply doesn’t resonate with me. It feels too flat, too static. I gravitated towards Ashley’s portfolio because of the candid nature of her subjects. I could feel their essence, willfully captured within each photograph. To me, that’s true beauty. 

During the shooting, we engaged in conversation as I went about my creative tasks. Her presence makes for a relaxed energy that’s supportive and encouraging, and I think that the moments captured serve as visual testimonies to this. As I examine the pictures and video components taken, I feel seen. I feel as though I am not only taking-in who I am energetically, but a unique beauty that I can’t say I’ve witnessed (or felt) before in the same way.”
